A seminar titled "DGS 2026: Strategy and Motivation on the Road to Your Goal" was organized

The Spatial Information Society, operating within the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning at Iğdır University's Vocational School of Technical Sciences, organized a seminar titled "DGS 2026: Strategy and Motivation on the Road to Your Goal" to contribute to the academic and professional career planning of associate degree students.

The seminar was conducted by Lecturer Rüştü Çallı from the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning. The event provided comprehensive information about the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS), a significant opportunity for students to transition from associate degree programs to bachelor's degree programs. Students received detailed explanations on how to prepare for the exam, effective study methods, techniques for creating a planned study schedule, and the importance of maintaining high motivation. Information was also provided on which bachelor's degree programs can be accessed via the DGS, the application process, and the different score types.

As part of the seminar, in order to shed light on students' career planning, experience sharing was carried out by connecting online with graduates who have completed their education or are continuing their professional lives in different fields.

Diyar Saltürk, a graduate student who gained admission to the Land Registry and Cadastre Department at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University through the DGS exam, shared her study program, the challenges she faced, and how she managed the process with the students. Saltürk emphasized that regular and planned studying was one of the most important factors in DGS success.

Another graduate, Gülistan Polat, stated that she is currently working at the Kırklareli Land Registry Office and shared her experiences regarding the public sector appointment process. Polat explained to the students her study methods during the KPSS Associate Degree preparation process, how she maintained her motivation for the exam, and the stages encountered in the appointment process.

Another graduate, Esen Gülcan, who participated in the event online, stated that she works at the Ardahan Damal Land Registry Office and shared her experience working in public institutions and the methods she followed while preparing for the KPSS (Public Personnel Selection Examination). Gülcan emphasized the importance of students planning early on by defining both their academic and professional goals.

The seminar also provided general information about the DGS (Graduate Entrance Examination) and the KPSS (Public Personnel Selection Examination for Associate Degree holders), offering suggestions on how students aiming for careers in public institutions should manage the exam process, maintain high motivation, and develop long-term study strategies.

The event, which saw high participation, helped students gain awareness of both their academic and professional goals.
