GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN PLANNING

​Today, the need for qualified, skilled, and professional human resources in both the public and private sectors is increasing day by day. In the highly competitive business world, institutions that employ individuals with professional knowledge and practical skills can achieve sustainable success. Accordingly, the main objective of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning is to train qualified technical personnel who possess professional competencies and can translate their acquired knowledge into practice, taking into account the needs of the sector and scientific and technological developments.
​This department has two programs: Mapping and Cadastre, and Land Registry and Cadastre. The department has a total of 6 academic staff members: 1 Professor, 2 Assistant Professors, and 3 Lecturers.


GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE MAP CADASTRE PROGRAM

The Mapping and Cadastre Program commenced operations in the 2019-2020 academic year, admitting its first students. The program has a total of 3 academic staff members: 1 Assistant Professor and 2 Lecturers. The Mapping and Cadastre Program is a professional field aiming to produce maps at all scales needed by the country, and to conduct surveys and applications for small-scale land-based projects. The maps produced form the basic infrastructure for engineering and planning studies. There is a great need for mapping and cadastre technicians in urban and zoning planning, parceling studies, cadastre applications, topographic maps, and the planning and application of engineering projects such as highways, railways, irrigation, and tunnels. They also play important roles in the preparation and implementation of technical infrastructure projects such as roads, water, and sewage systems. Within the program, students gain skills in working with modern techniques such as collecting land data with electronic measuring instruments, calculating and converting this data into drawings in a computer environment, and using GPS and satellite-based measurement systems.

The Surveying and Cadastre Program aims to train intermediate personnel who build a technical bridge between engineers and technicians in the sector. Graduates can be employed in the public and private sectors with the title of "Surveying and Cadastre Technician".


GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE LAND REGISTRY CADASTRE PROGRAM

The Land Registry and Cadastre Program commenced operations in the 2019-2020 academic year, admitting its first students. The program has a total of 3 academic staff members: 1 Professor, 1 Assistant Professor, and 1 Lecturer. The main objective of the program is to train qualified intermediate personnel capable of handling the legal and technical processes related to land registry maintenance and cadastral work. The curriculum, developed accordingly, is continuously updated taking into account developments in the sector and technological innovations.

The Land Registry and Cadastre Program aims to train graduates who are proficient in professional knowledge, effectively utilize technology, possess strong practical skills, and prioritize public benefit. Students who successfully complete the program receive the title of "Land Registry and Cadastre Technician" and can be employed in public institutions and the private sector.
