A Meaningful Talk for Students: “Rules of Etiquette and Manners”
A discussion on "Rules of Etiquette and Manners," organized by academics from the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning at Iğdır University to contribute to the social, academic, and professional development of students, was held on Monday, April 13th, at 1:00 PM in Amphitheater 2 of the Faculty of Engineering. Moderated by Prof. Dr. Aliihsan ŞEKERTEKİN, the event took place in an interactive atmosphere with active student participation.
The discussion emphasized that courtesy and good manners are not only social necessities but also fundamental values that reflect an individual's character and directly impact their career. The importance of "first impressions" was particularly highlighted in university life, noting that the attitudes and behaviors students display during their first encounters leave a lasting impact on those around them.
The event covered the topic of courtesy and respect in communication in detail. The importance of establishing proper and balanced communication with instructors, maintaining boundaries in friendships, and a sense of responsibility in group work were emphasized.
