Our department's faculty member, Dr. Fevzi DAŞ, participated as a speaker at the "Artificial Intelligence, Software and Human" Science Cafe event.

As part of the Science Cafe events organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), a discussion program titled "Artificial Intelligence, Software and Humanity," organized by Iğdır University, was held on July 31, 2026, at Iğdır National Garden with a large attendance.

Our university's Rector, Prof. Dr. Ekrem Gürel, along with university management, academic and administrative staff, students, and numerous citizens, attended the event, where Dr. Fevzi DAŞ, a faculty member from our Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, participated as a speaker.

In the program moderated by Dr. Hakan Bakar, Coordinator of the Science Communication Office, Dr. Fevzi DAŞ, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gültekin Işık from the Department of Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Ayberk Caf, a graduate of the Department of Computer Engineering, shared their knowledge and experience with the participants. They made assessments about the current level of artificial intelligence technologies, recent developments in the software field, the digital transformation process, and the effects of these technologies on individuals and institutions.

The discussion also focused on the future applications of artificial intelligence, the opportunities it presents, ethical principles, reliable AI applications, and the need for the technology to be developed with a human-centered approach. Participants contributed to the event in an interactive environment by directly asking the speakers questions about topics they were curious about during the question-and-answer session.

The Science Cafe event, which aimed to bring scientific knowledge to the public, concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the speakers.
