The Department of Architecture and Urban Planning participated in the External Stakeholder Collaboration Meeting.
Faculty members from the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning also participated in the cooperation meeting held between Iğdır University Technical Sciences Vocational School (TBMYO) and its external stakeholder, KC Kars Railway Construction Joint Venture. The meeting began with introductions among the participants and continued with presentations and an exchange of views.
During the meeting, our department's faculty member, Lecturer Rüştü ÇALLI, gave a presentation introducing the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning. The presentation included detailed information about the department's course content, current curriculum structure, and educational approach. Furthermore, the technological devices used in the educational process, application-oriented course content, and the facilities of the department's instrument laboratory were explained to the participants.
The presentation highlighted the practical training activities conducted to better prepare students for the industry, the work carried out within the scope of special projects, and the department's expectations from the sector. In addition, information was provided about the UAV license training offered through the Iğdır University Continuing Education Center, and it was stated that efforts are underway to enable students to gain competencies in various fields.
During the meetings between academics and company representatives, the issue of adapting education and training processes to better meet the needs of the sector came to the forefront. Accordingly, it was decided that department-based collaborations should be increased, curricula should be updated in light of sectoral developments, and joint efforts should be made to strengthen students' field experience.
In addition, there was a consensus on organizing technical trips for students, increasing internship opportunities, and establishing a practice-based bridge between the industry and the university.
This meeting is expected to strengthen cooperation between the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning and industry representatives, contribute to the professional development of students, and significantly enhance opportunities for practical training.
