"A talk titled "Architecture and Urban Planning Department Career Days: Between the Desk and the Field" was held.
The event was held with the participation of Ünal Öztürk and Serkan Atış, both of whom have extensive experience in the private sector in surveying. The participants shared valuable insights into their private sector work experiences and career paths.
The event was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aliihsan Şekertekin. Şekertekin guided the event and provided guidance to the speakers and students. The main theme of the talk was the challenges, advantages, and disadvantages encountered in the private sector after graduation. Participants shared their experiences of working in the private sector, emphasizing the interplay between fieldwork and desk work, and the unique challenges each presents. They also offered suggestions for students on how to develop their skills and prepare them for these challenges.
They discussed the competencies that are crucial for students to be more successful in this sector and the areas they can specialize in to shape their careers. In this context, they focused on specific software, new technologies, and innovative approaches in the sector. Participants also noted the crucial importance of soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, and teamwork in the business world.
