External Stakeholder Visit to Our Department from ÇAP Surveying and Engineering
Officials from ÇAP Mapping and Engineering, an external stakeholder of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Vocational School of Technical Sciences, visited our department on July 16, 2026, to conduct technical reviews and evaluations regarding the GNSS Fixed Reference Station planned to be established at our university.
During the visit, Ercan Çelik, a Surveying Engineer from ÇAP Mapping and Engineering, and Elif Saymaz, a Surveying Technician and a graduate of our department, conducted field studies to determine suitable locations within the campus for the planned fixed station. Using technical measuring devices, the necessary measurements for the station's positioning were taken and infrastructure conditions were evaluated.
The external stakeholder meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Aliihsan Şekertekin, Dr. Emirhan Özdemir, Lecturer Rüştü Çallı, Lecturer Mitat Can Yıldız, Surveying Engineer Ercan Çelik, and Surveying Technician Elif Saymaz. During the meeting, the contributions of the planned GNSS Fixed Reference Station to education, research, and applied courses were evaluated, and views were exchanged on developing university-industry collaboration.
The planned station is intended to make significant contributions to applied training activities, particularly in the Surveying and Cadastre and Land Registry and Cadastre programs, to enable students to experience current surveying technologies firsthand, and to provide infrastructure support for scientific research.
As the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, we would like to thank the officials of ÇAP Surveying and Engineering for their valuable visit, which contributes to strengthening university-industry collaboration, and we hope that joint studies will continue to increase.
