Our Department Head ŞEKERTEKİN is on the List of the World's Most Influential Scientists!
The list of “The World’s Most Influential Scientists,” prepared annually by Stanford University and the Netherlands-based scientific publishing company Elsevier, has been published.
In creating the list, international criteria such as the number of qualified publications, the impact of the journal in which the publications appear, the number of patents, h-index, hm-index, the number of articles, and the number of citations were used.
The list included two different categories: “Career-Long Impact” and “Annual Impact.” The list included scientists who were cited the most and who were in the top 2% of the world among the 22 main branches of science and 174 sub-branches..
Our department head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aliihsan ŞEKERTEKİN was included in this list with Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hakkı ALMA and 5 other academicians from our university.
7 Scientists from Our University on the List
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hakkı Alma and 6 scientists from our University were included in the ranking, which was created by taking into account the work of scientists throughout their careers.
While Rector Alma was included in both the “Careerlong Impact” and “Annual Impact Rankings” lists, Rector’s Chief Advisor Prof. Dr. İbrahim Demirtaş, Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Ramazan Erenler, Prof. Dr. Dureyt Veziroğlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fikret Türkan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aliihsan Şekertekin and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülçin Yıldız were also included in the “Annual Impact Rankings”.
Expressing his great happiness and pride in the success of our academicians, Rector Alma said, “Our academicians who are included in the list of the most influential scientists in the world are a significant source of pride for our University, our city and our country. I congratulate our academicians on my own behalf and on behalf of my University and I wish that the success of all academicians of our University will continue to increase.”
Rector Alma also thanked the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the members of the Council of Higher Education, who always support academics with their encouraging and guiding approaches to academic studies.
